Below is the directions to update the TPS/Load Prediction Map for the MazdaSpeed Miata Only!

Materials Required:
Wire Cutters / Crimpers
Butt Connectors - Qty 1
Heat Shrink - To cover Butt Connectors - Qty 2
Soldering Iron (If preferred)
Electrical Tape

Changing Wire Harness Directions:
Un-attach the chassis ground wire. Remove the Xede and Patch Harness
from the car.

On the largest connector, there are two wires you need to locate.
One is the O2 Wire coming from the Xede Harness, Grey Connector,
Pin # 10.  Or Pin # 4W on the stock ECU connectors. Cut this wire
close to where it was tapped into the harness. Do not cut the white wires.
Cover with electrical tape or heat shrink. This wire will be the
     NEW TPS IN wire.

The second wire is the TPS wire.  It is the wire that has been cut in the patch
harness, on the largest connector. Pin # 4V on the stock ECU connector.
The NEW TPS OUT is Xede Harness, Grey connector, Pin # 3.
DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE WIRE GOING TO PIN # 3.
Locate the cut (white or blue) wire opposite the wire going to Xede pin # 3.

Take the wire running from Xede Harness, Grey Connector, Pin # 10
(wire previously cut) and butt connector it to the wire cut in the patch harness
(ECU pinout 4V). Solder and cover with heat shrink or electrical tape.

Remember, "IN" is into the large white, female connector. "OUT" is the small, black, male connector.

Re-Install the Xede / Patch Harness and re-attach the chassis ground wire.

Updating Xede Map:
Connect to the Xede unit on your car. Open XMap and turn the key to "ON" position.  Click on F8 to download and show all maps.  Locate the Load Prediction Map.
Right click on the map and click on "Edit this Map".

Change the Math function from absolute to "Scale (Multiply)". Change the Adjust Range to "+/- 100%". Click on OK.  XMap will ask you if you want to upload the new changes. Click on YES.

Once it is done uploading the new map, return the the Load Prediction Map and fill it in exactly as below. You can change a big block of numbers at one time by highlighting them and typing 99.2. It will then change all the highlighted cells to that value.
When completed, Upload (CtrlU) and Burn (CtrlB) the map to EEPROM. Save the new map to your computer. You can also e-mail a copy of your MAP to BEGi as a back up, or to verify that it was done correctly.

If your  map does not scale on 100%, please note the Load Points listed on the photo above and change accordingly.

Another TPS map you can try is below. Notice it is on a 50% scale and adjust the load points, and map scale as needed.

When completed, Upload (CtrlU) and Burn (CtrlB) the map to EEPROM. Save the new map to your computer. You can also e-mail a copy of your MAP to BEGi as a back up, or to verify that it was done correctly. Turn the key off. Turn the key back on. Start the car. Take it for a test drive to make sure it is working properly. If you have questions or problems, please call Tim or Stephanie at 830-438-2890.
